Activities and ideas for Mother’s Day
1) Breakfast in bed
Start Mother’s Day the right way by treating that lovely lady to breakfast in bed! Make it extra-special by considering all her favourite breakfast treats like pastries, fruit, a delicious cup of tea and including as many as you can – you could even arrange it onto a tray with a beautiful flower. This lovely idea is small but meaningful and will certainly be appreciated on Mother’s Day – just don’t forget to do the washing up!
2) A handmade gift
If there is one thing every Mum, Nan or Aunt would love to receive on Mother’s Day, it’s a DIY gift. Handmade gifts can be personalised to ensure they paw-fectly reflect the personality of whoever you are celebrating, and you just know she will cherish the love put into every detail. Don’t worry if you can’t think of what to make, I have some lovely craft ideas for Mother’s Day on my Things to Make page.
3) DIY spa day
Mums want to relax, that’s why a DIY at home spa day is a fantastic idea for Mother’s Day! She doesn’t have to get out of her pyjamas AND you get to spend quality together, how boof-tastic is that! The spa could include painting her nails with her favourite polish, running her a relaxing bubble bath and doing a facemask. Easy peasy if you ask me.
4) Family movie night
A family movie night is an excellent idea for Mother’s Day, especially if you have a bigger family. It means your lovely Mum will spend her Mother’s Day surrounded by all the people she loves and maybe some delicious movie snacks! Just make sure to let her choose the movie, it is her special day after all!
5) The perfect card
Sending a card is an easy way to celebrate every special lady on Mother’s Day! Whether it’s for a Mum, Nan, Aunt, Pet Mum or someone else, a lovely card will be made perfect when you personalise it with a heartfelt message full of appreciation, especially for her. You can find the perfect card, for everyone you want to celebrate, on my Amazon store!
6) A picnic
Your Mum will have so much fun celebrating her extra-special day with a picnic! There is nothing as lovely as eating tasty food with the ones you love in the beauty of nature, just wrap up warm – it’s only March after all! Why not go the extra mile and pack only her favourite lunch time drinks and snacks?
Don’t worry if the sun’s not shining, indoor picnics can be just as fun! Just set up your blanket on the living room floor and tuck in.
7) A lovely gift
Gifts are a lovely way to say ‘thank you’ to your Mum on Mother’s Day, especially if you choose something that perfectly reflects her personality! I have some extra-special gift ideas for Mother’s Day on my ‘gifts’ page – like a boof-tastic keyring to remind a Mum on the go how much you love her, or if she’s a fan of getting cosy at home with a tasty coffee, how about a mug telling her how lovely she is? No matter what gift you choose to treat her with, she will be feeling the love this Mother’s Day.
8) DIY photoshoot
We all know Mums love photos but often, they are the ones behind the camera. That’s why, I think a DIY photo shoot is an amazingly, heartfelt way to spend Mother’s Day. It’s simple, just go to her most favourite place, set up a camera and pose! Pet Mums will love this idea too!
9) Game night
Your marvellous Mum will have a fantastic time un-winding surrounded by the ones she loves… and her favourite games! A night full of games means a night full of laughter and there is nothing a Mum loves more than laughing and having fun with her family. If you want to make it extra-special, why not order her favourite take away to enjoy amongst the gaming?
10) Family baking
Who doesn’t love a homemade sweet treat – they are tasty AND super fun to make! Especially when you make them with your Mum on Mother’s Day. Even Mums who don’t have a sweet tooth will enjoy baking on Mother’s Day, it’s the time spent together that matters, the goodies are just a bonus! Make her favourite baked goods or have a go at making my super scrummy cupcakes.
As 10th March approaches, have a think about the very-best way to spend it with that special lady. There are lots of lovely celebration ideas but it’s the time spent together that matters the most. Happy Mother’s Day!
